Advantage Plumbing, Heating & Air

Advantage Plumbing, Heating & Air

Rob was running a broken Wix site that was costing him calls. I rebuilt it on WordPress from scratch: new design, every page rewritten, 301 redirects mapped from the old URLs so nothing already ranking was lost, on-page SEO, meta tags, schema, Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel. Service area pages cover each town he works in, and the contact forms run through SMTP so enquiries actually arrive. Mobile-first throughout, because that is where the emergency calls come from.

Every page, redirect and form on this project was built by me, with no account manager or junior developer in between.

Overview

Advantage Plumbing, Heating & Air is a plumbing and HVAC company in Ohio. Rob, the owner, came to me with a Wix site that was failing in the ways that quietly cost a trades business money. It was slow on a phone, awkward to edit, and built without any thought for how a homeowner with water coming through the ceiling actually behaves.

The brief was a full rebuild on WordPress: move every page across, keep the search visibility the old site had already earned, and rebuild the whole thing around the phone call.

What the project involved

  • A complete WordPress rebuild, replacing the Wix site page for page
  • 301 redirects mapped from every old URL to its new destination
  • Service area pages covering each town Rob works in
  • On-page SEO, meta tags and schema markup
  • Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel
  • Contact forms running through SMTP so enquiries actually arrive
  • Mobile-first layout with scroll animations

The Opportunity

Rob was not short of demand. He was short of a website that converted the demand he already had.

Wix had given him something that looked acceptable on a desktop and fell apart on a phone, which is where almost every emergency plumbing search happens. The number was buried. The forms were unreliable. And because Wix locks up the underlying structure, there was no sensible way to add the location pages a local trades business needs in order to show up across a whole service area rather than one town.

The opportunity was straightforward: keep everything that was already working, and fix the structure underneath it.

What I Built

Migrating off Wix without losing rankings

This is the part most rebuilds get wrong. A new site on new URLs throws away years of accumulated search equity, and the business wonders why the phone goes quiet a month after launch.

Before touching the design, I mapped every existing URL on the Wix site and matched it to its new WordPress equivalent, then set 301 redirects across the board. Anything Rob already ranked for kept its place.

Service area pages

A plumber covering a dozen towns competes for a dozen separate local searches, not one. The old site had a single line mentioning the area, which is invisible to somebody searching for a plumber in their specific town.

I built dedicated service area pages so each town has a real page behind it, alongside individual service pages rather than one long list.

Forms that reach the inbox

Contact forms on cheap builds fail silently. The visitor sees a thank-you message, the business never receives the enquiry, and nobody finds out until a customer rings to ask why they were ignored. Every form on the new site runs through SMTP so submissions land reliably.

Tracking and markup

Google Analytics and the Facebook Pixel were installed at launch, along with schema markup so search engines understand what the business does and where it operates.

The Result

Rob got a site that loads fast on a phone, keeps his number within reach on every page, and has a real page behind every service and every town he covers. He recorded a video testimonial afterwards, which is not something a client does unless the work landed.

“We like the site. It is definitely what we were looking for. I will definitely use Saqlain for other projects in the future.”

Conclusion

Most trades rebuilds get sold on how the site looks. The work that decides whether it earns its money is less visible: the redirects, the page structure, the forms, the speed on a phone.

Rob said he would use me for other projects in the future, which is the measure I care about.
